Andrew was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at South Tees NHS Foundation Trust in 2010 and now works at split sites between The Friarage Hospital, Northallerton and The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. Andrew has a sub-specialty interest in heart failure and Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) including permanent pacemakers, ICDs, cardiac resynchronisation therapy and implantable loop recorders plus. He holds a British Heart Rhythm Society accreditation in pacing and devices. He also has a keen interest in medical education. Andrew is a past chair of British Heart Rhythm Society certification committee, faculty member for Heart Rhythm Congress, immediate past Chair of the North East Strategic Clinical Network – cardiac rhythm management sub group and trustee for Pace4life. Andrew has been involved in the research of CIEDs since his consultant appointment.
