Judy Winter

Judy has been a qualified nurse for 30 years and for the past 20 years has spent most of her time looking after the patient with Type 2 Diabetes. Over the last 5 years she has worked in a dual role as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Community Diabetes Specialist Nurse within the primary care setting in Greater Preston and Chorley & South Ribble CCG’s. She works currently as the PCN Diabetic lead. Judy completed the Warwick Course in Diabetes and 4 years ago undertook a Masters’ Programme in Insulin Initiation and Titration. Diabetes is where her passion lies with the overriding objective being that of individualised, evidence based care. As an ANP she has also developed a wide range of skills that complement her role as a diabetes specialist. As an educator locally and nationally, Judy has a wealth of experience to share with colleagues and fellow clinicians working within the field of diabetes.
