| Biography |
Sophie West is a respiratory consultant leading the Newcastle Regional Sleep Service and head of the Respiratory department at Freeman Hospital. She was part of the committee for the new NICE OSAHS, OHS and COPD-OSAHS overlap syndrome Clinical Guidelines, published August 2021. She is co-chair of the OSA Alliance and medical advisor to the OSA Partnership group. She has worked closely with the DVLA regarding their guidelines for people with OSA.
Her research interests are in OSA and the impact of CPAP on co-morbid conditions, such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes and diabetic retinopathy. @sophiedwest
