Sam is a GP in West Lancashire and Academic Clinical Lecturer in General Practice at the University of Manchester. Sam’s research focuses on improving early diagnosis of cancer in primary care and implementing and evaluating diagnostic tests. Sam is leading several studies focused on prostate cancer detection in primary care and he has served on expert reference groups for Prostate Cancer UK, Movember, and NICE. Sam is also Associate Editor for the British Journal of General Practice and Senior Board Member for BMC Cancer. @SamMerriel
