Dr Sofia Llahana, an NIHR Post-doctoral Clinical Academic, Hon Consultant Nurse, and Tech Innovation Fellow, is renowned for her extensive experience in nursing, behavioural science, and UX research across clinical, academic, and commercial fields. She pioneered the UK’s first Consultant Nurse role in Endocrinology, combining clinical expertise with innovative leadership and a significant track record in research and grants that enhance patient-centred care.
Dr Llahana founded and chaired the European Society of Endocrinology Nurse Committee and received numerous awards over the years. Her work includes editorial leadership on “Advanced Practice in Endocrinology Nursing,” a key textbook in global endocrine nursing education. She is actively involved in various professional and patient advocacy organisations worldwide.
