Managing the seriously ill patient in the community

During the Covid-19 pandemic, general practice is seeing more unwell patients who have left hospital earlier than usual.

This module will consider:

• Patients who have been discharged after emergency surgery
• Patients who have been sent home earlier than usual after an infective admission
• Elderly and frail patients who may have less support than usual from other community services
• Elderly and frail patients who may be unwell with Covid-19 symptoms and are past the point where we would usually admit to hospital
• Measures for shielded patients
