  • Understand what advance care planning discussions should include
  • Appreciate the legal responsibilities relating to advance care planning including Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) decisions and establishing mental capacity 
  • Know how to assess a person’s capacity to make advance care planning decisions, and when and how to seek advice
  • Understand how decisions may be made on behalf of a patient through a lasting power of attorney
