Dr Carol Howell is currently the Research Director at Enteromed Ltd a small Clinical Research Organization and distributor of oral intestinal adsorbents in the UK. She has just completed a large UK clinical study for 440 patients with diarrhoea predominant Irritable bowel syndrome (RELIEVE IBS-D) investigating the intestinal adsorbent Enterosgel. This study was innovative as it converted to one of the first virtual trials in the country during the pandemic, where recruitment and patient visits were all conducted remotely. She previously worked for 15 years as a clinical researcher in the field of medical adsorbents at the University of Brighton. She completed her undergraduate degree at Nottingham University and her post graduate studies at the University of Brighton.
