| Biography |
Iain has been a GP in prisons for 20 years. The needs of this patient group led to an interest in viral hepatitis, liver disease, and through his work treating hepatitis C to his recruitment as a Speciality Doctor in liver disease at St James Hospital in Leeds. He contributed to the NICE guideline for cirrhosis; his work has appeared in various Primary Care publications on liver disease and he has delivered webinars on viral hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis and hepatic encephalopathy. Iain has also worked in medicolegal practice and acted as an expert witness in Primary Care for many years. He is now the Deputy Medical Director for a team which is responsible for the delivery of healthcare to patients in 46 English prisons. @iainbrew
