| Biography |
Dr Raja is a fully committed GP with years of experience in inner city General Practice. He is a passionate leader whose keen interest is to reduce health inequalities, by tackling the wider social determinants of health.
After working in Hulme, a very deprived inner city practice for the past 5 years, he has now joined Hope Citadel to work with a group whose ethos is whole person care, and it is delivered where it is needed the most. He is very interested in improving the quality of Respiratory Medicine across all domains and now oversees all Respiratory Improvement in Manchester and Greater Manchester.
Quality and Performance is his other interests and is working hard to improve quality in primary care in Manchester. Training has always been close to his heart, and he currently delivers talks on respiratory medicine, which have been called motivational and inspirational. Dr Raja believes that our future lies in GPs who are trained to think as systems leader, and an exposure to Deprivation Medicine now would be key to reduce health inequalities in the future and delivering the patient outcomes which we would be proud of. He completed his Post Graduate Certificate in GP education with Distinction, and he has received excellent feedback from the trainees he has had so far.
