Rama Vancheeswaran is a Consultant Chest and General Physician at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Hospitals, Royal Free Foundation Trust and leads the Integrated COPD service in Barnet, North London. This service was recently noted to have the lowest admission and mortality rate by the Atlas of Variation in Respiratory Disease. The service was also nominated a finalist for the HSJ Patient Safety and Integrated Care Awards. Rama qualified in Nigeria and the Royal Free in Medicine and then trained in the Brompton, Hammersmith and Marys. Her Masters and PhD were in the Immunopathogenesis of Scleroderma. She balances her career with home life with a husband, 3 kids and community work within the Asian community.
