| Biography |
Dr Willis is a GP in West London and has been clinical lead for diabetes in North West London for 10 years. Over that period he has led the NWL Diabetes Transformation Programme which has focussed on improving care and outcomes for a population of 170,000 people with diabetes.
Key components of this work have included an ICB-wide primary care enhanced service, Know Diabetes (www.knowdiabetes.org.uk – an innovative patient facing platform combining curated patient information, multichannel proactive targeted communication and a patient-facing record, REWIND (REducing Weight with INtensive Dietary support – a large scale weight management programme offering patients a choice of total diet replacement or low carb pathways) and the development of peer-led diabetes community clubs which have focussed on digital literacy and improving patient engagement, particularly in areas of high deprivation. @tonygwillis
